The Freemont Festival of the Arts
If you live in Northern California, you’ve almost certainly heard of the Freemont Festival of the Arts. Next month they’ll be celebrating their 32nd year! The 2015 event will take place on August 1st and 2nd at Walnut Avenue and Paseo Padre Parkway in Fremont, California.
Silicon Valley S.T.E.A.M. Festival
When we first heard about the Silicon Valley S.T.E.A.M. Festival, we couldn’t help but be excited. S.T.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Aviation, & Math. What catches our attention, however, is this: there will be hundreds of unique cars on display! Here at NLS Limo, transportation is our passion, so the opportunity to see one-of-a-kind vehicles, mint-condition hotrods, and a variety of other special automobiles is right up our alley. Hot San Jose Nights and The Car Guy Channel will sponsor this portion of the event.
B.ay A.rea D.irby Girls Bout 2
Have you seen BAD? Although you never know in an area as eccentric as our beloved Northern California, we don’t mean the 1987 Michael Jackson music video. Rather, we’re referring to the flat-track roller derby girls. B.A.D. Girls is short for B.ay A.rea D.irby Girls, and these ladies can skate! This Northern California league was formed in 2004, and their popularity continues to skyrocket. Teams include the Richmond Wrecking Belles, the San Francisco ShEvil Dead, the Oakland Outlaws, the Berkeley Resistance, and, of course, there’s the All-Star Team, the Golden Girls, who compete nationally.
Hops on Fire: Spicy Food & IPA Festival
Do you love hoppy beer? And spicy food? If so, the inaugural Hops on Fire: Spicy Food & IPA Festival is for you. From 11 am until 6 pm on Saturday, July 11th, this celebration will take place at the SoMa StrEat Food Park at 428 11th Street in San Francisco.
Ty Segall Performs at The Chapel
Ty Segall is one of California’s own. In fact, a while back you’d find him constantly playing shows with a variety of bands in the greater Bay Area. These days he’s internationally renowned, and he blends a variety of sounds ranging from psychedelic rock, glam rock, heavy metal, and more. He’s prolific playing with an almost-countless number of bands such as The Tradition Fools, Sic Alps, the Ty Segall Band, and others. Some of his most famous songs include “Tall Man Skinny Lady,” “Goodbye Bread,” “The Drag,” and many more.
California’s WorldFest 2015
This year will mark California’s The Center For The Art’s 19th WorldFest. From July 16th through the 19th at the Nevada County Fairgrounds – Grass Valley, guests will find eight stages brimming with live music. Performers from around the world will include roots-meets-electronica Beats Antique musicians, Appalachia-inspired child prodigy EmiSunshine, Mexico’s Afro-Caribbean playing Las Cafeteras, South Korean born Saritah, North California’s own London Jax, and dozens more. Hello Kitty’s Supercute Friendship Festival
Do you have a little girl – a daughter, niece, or cousin perhaps – who adores Hello Kitty? Or maybe you are one of the hundreds of thousands of adults fascinated by kawaii, which translates most closely to something like ‘cute’ or ‘adorable,’ of Japanese culture. In the U.S., we’ve long been able to watch the Sanrio cartoons and purchase the delightful apparel, jewelry, handbags, and much more. These days, even electric guitars, checks, debit cards, toasters, and airliner jets, to name only a few items, sport the face of Sanrio’s Hello Kitty.
Waterfront Flicks in the Bay Area
Every Thursday evening around 8 p.m., moviegoers flock to the ferry lawn near the Waterfront Hotel at Jack London Square in Oakland, California for the Waterfront Flick Series. Area residents and visitors lay blankets and chairs on a serene stretch of grass that runs along the Oakland/Alameda estuary, and you’ll find gatherings of sweethearts, families, and friends who adore this free outdoor movie screening.

It’s baseball season again in the Bay Area. That means hot dogs, popcorn and beer. There will be the seventh inning stretch and singing “Take me out to the ballgame.” The Bay Area has two teams for people to watch.

It began in 1853 as a society for educated individuals in the San Francisco area and grew to become a major museum with 26 million specimens.
