Spring is on its way! Here in the Bay Area, we’re fortunate to enjoy a temperate climate year-round, yet we understand that spring is a symbol of new life, a time to celebrate the beautiful outdoors! Especially if you’re a transplant from another part of the country or even the world – perhaps one that suffers foot upon foot of dense, wet snow – you might have a particular fondness for April and May regardless of where you live now. One of our favorite ways to celebrate Spring is with a visit to the Berkeley Rose Garden in mid May.
Whether you live in the Bay Area, you’re an MLB fan, or both, you know which California team has won eight World Series titles and 23 National League pennants: the San Francisco Giants. Perhaps you even have a favorite retired-number ball player, such as Monte Irving, Willie Mays, or Bill Terry. No matter which Giants player most warms your heart, sport the black, orange, and cream, and don’t miss FanFest!
Known internationally as both amazing entertainers and ambassadors of goodwill, The Harlem Globetrotters are one of the oldest and most recognizable franchises in sports history. Their unique nicknames, ball handling wizardry, amazing trick shots, and comedic stunts combined with community service programs and exemplary sportsmanship have provided smiles to millions of fans around the world for decades. The famous team will bring their unrivaled family show to Oracle Arena in Oakland this January during their 90th Anniversary World Tour.
It’s baseball season again in the Bay Area. That means hot dogs, popcorn and beer. There will be the seventh inning stretch and singing “Take me out to the ballgame.” The Bay Area has two teams for people to watch.
Golden State lost their home court advantage in Game 2 and Game 3 but regained it in Game 4, an impressive team effort. The Dubs overcame a career-high 28 points from the Cleveland Cavalier’s Timofey Mozgov while the Golden State Warrior’s baby faced assassin found his groove with 22 points. During the first three games the Cavalier’s Lebron James played like an all-time NBA great, but during the fourth game it became clear that the Cavaliers can’t win unless their MVP is stealing the show.
A party bus is perhaps the ultimate vehicle for concert transportation. With plenty of room, wet bars, mood lighting, stripper poles and many other amenities, there is no better way to get to and from a concert with friends and family. At least that’s what 38 Californians thought when they rented a party bus for a recent Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias concert at the Staples Center. They reserved The Super Sexy Party Bus from a local party bus provider to transport them from Thousand Oaks to downtown Los Angeles and home again so they could all concentrate on having a good time.
"They had what looked like the best party bus on the market," said passenger Bruce Barrios. "It looked like a night club on wheels."
"It had four great neon light-up stripper poles and a disco ball," said passenger Suzie Hayden.
The evening of fun, music and merriment got off to an inauspicious beginning, however, when the party bus arrived two hours late. Making matters worse, the air conditioning on the party bus was not working, and it wasn’t long before the guests were quite uncomfortable in the sweltering heat.
"I thought I was going to die," said passenger Marco Jimenez.
The lateness of the arrival of their party bus also caused the guests to miss a big chunk of the concert, which was already well underway when they arrived at the Staples Center. After the concert, the guests were outraged when they gathered at the predetermined pickup point only to find that their party bus was gone, along with the belongings they had left on board. Their calls to the party bus provider went unanswered, and the group ended up having to take cabs to get back home.
The guests complained to the Public Utilities Commission, which oversees all for-hire ground transportation companies in California and learned that, while the bus and the limousine service that owns the party bus are in compliance with CPUC regulations, the limo service has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. That’s not very sexy.
If you’re looking for an ethical, affordable and professional San Francisco party bus provider that is also in full compliance with CPUC regulations but takes much better care of its guests, call us at NLS Limo today at 800-339-8936. There’s a lot of baseball left to be played, but both the San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s are off to a fine start. If they continue at their current torrid pace, they will be poised for the postseason. If you want to make a late season or postseason visit to the ballpark extra special, why not rent a San Francisco limousine or party bus to take you and your crew to and from the game in style?
