Special Lady Celebrates 100th Birthday With Limo Ride
Australian centenarian Ivy Russell of Percy Miles Villa, Kirrawee decided to celebrate her 100th birthday with a bit of luxury and flair by arriving at her birthday party in the back of a luxurious limousine. Ivy celebrated this impressive milestone on July 30 along with 50 family members and friends at a swanky golf resort. A special birthday cake was flown in from hundreds of miles away for the occasion and arrived intact and, reportedly, delicious.
Limo Guest Uses Software to Track Down Oakland Limo Driver Who Stole Laptop
A man who had his laptop stolen turned to secret software after contacting the police, who offered little help.
“I was thinking, this sucks, someone has my computer and is viewing my stuff and there’s nothing I can do about it,” Joshua Kaufman said.
Friends Coming to Town for the Fourth? Rent a San Francisco Limo!
The long, three-day Fourth of July weekend is coming up soon. If you have friends and/or family planning a visit to the Bay Area that weekend and you want to show them a good time while you show them around, we humbly suggest renting one of our San Francisco limos! Renting a limo is practical, affordable and allows everyone, including you, to relax and have a good time while you show off our glorious city and the natural beauty of the Bay Area. If you’re looking for ideas for your limo excursion, we have some suggestions that are worthy of your consideration, and they will probably kick-start some ideas of your own! A few of our ideas for weekend fun include the following:
Mini Cooper Limo Features Whirlpool
Occasionally, we like to write about custom limos that feature improbable combinations of amenities. In the past, we have talked about limos built from scraps from other limos, a custom limousine made from an airplane fuselage, custom limos with wild color schemes and many other unlikely or remarkable limousines. The custom limousine for this blog post is equally unusual and unlikely: a Mini Cooper limo that features a two-person whirlpool in the back. This custom limo transcends two unlikely limo categories. For one, it’s a limousine made from one of the smallest passenger automobiles in the world. Secondly, it features a whirlpool within a space that is best described as “cozy” for one person, much less two. Still, this custom limo is so odd that we had to write about it as we often have unusual features in some of the San Francisco limousines in our fleet.
Presidential Motorcade Halted After Lead Limo “Bottomed Out”
There has been lots of presidential limo news in the mix recently, and it’s our job as the premier San Francisco limousine service to deliver it! Here is the latest development in the Obama administration limousine saga. During his recent trip to Ireland, the President’s motorcade came to a halt when the lead limo bottomed out while exiting the driveway of the U.S. Embassy in Dublin. Security cameras mounted outside the Embassy recorded the unexpected hitch in the presidential itinerary as Secret Service personnel piled out of different limousines to inspect the problem.
Use of Limousines Up Sharply During Obama Administration
According to the latest figures from the General Services Administration (GSA), the number of limousines bought and used by the Obama administration is up sharply over the last couple of years. The GSA found that there were 412 limousines used by various administration officials in 2010, which is up from 238 used in 2008, a 73 percent rise. Administration officials say the increase is due to security concerns, but in an unusual twist, the GSA admits that its limo statistics may be suspect as it uses the term “limo” to refer to a number of different vehicles and uses.

Illegal Limousines Crushed and Shredded By English Watchdog Agency
In an unusual move certainly intended to be a warning to illegal limousine operators, the Vehicle Operator Services Agency (VOSA), which is the agency that regulates the limousine industry in the United Kingdom, recently seized, crushed and shredded two luxury limousines. The Ford Excursion SUV limousines were seized from an illegal limousine operator in South Wales because they did not meet VOSA safety regulations and were transporting passengers illegally. The agency that registers, licenses and oversees San Francisco limousines and other limo services in California is the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). While they have not yet taken drastic steps like VOSA to address illegal limo operators, this might give them some ideas.
San Francisco Neighborhood Guide: North Beach
San Franciscans call this neighborhood by two names. One is North Beach, which fits this neighborhood’s current status as a trendy place to live, eat and shop. The other is Little Italy, which fits the neighborhood’s ethnic past and still-current identity. Book lovers call this San Francisco neighborhood by both names. However, to them, the name matters little; it’s the incredible new and used bookstores that have made this a Mecca for bibliophiles for many decades. You see, North Beach is home to our fair city’s most famous bookstore, City Lights. City Lights continues to draw readers from all over the world who yearn to sit, read and relax in the very same rooms where Ferlinghetti, Ginsberg, Kerouac and other literary giants wrote, read and hung out in days past.
