Need a Break from Your Routine? Rent a Bay Area Limo!
Alchemists used to say that they could transform lead into gold. Their claims may have been dubious, but we know a surefire way to transform the mundane into the extraordinary! Rent a San Francisco limousine from us, and treat your significant other to a limo ride down the lovely California coast. If you’re both tired of your routine and you could use a break to rejuvenate your lives, here is a proven recipe for success:
- Rent a San Francisco limousine
We have many different options for you, including stretch limos, hot tub limos, classic cars, antique Rolls-Royce limos and many more. We’re confident that you’ll find the perfect limo for the two of you from our huge fleet of luxury vehicles. - Have us stock your favorite beverages
It’s hard to beat champagne for these getaways, but we will gladly stock and chill your favorite alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for your lovely trip along the coast. - Lay in some provisions
Fruits, cheeses, antipasti trays, chocolates and other finger foods seem to work best for idyllic afternoons like these. It’s usually a good idea to avoid Philly cheesesteaks, monster burritos and other ambitious (and messy) undertakings, but go with your instincts on this one. - Arrange for a couple days off
Taking a couple weekdays off is a very good idea for these excursions. The whole point is to take a break from the everyday, right? Create your own weekend in the middle of the week with one day spent enjoying each other’s company in the back of your San Francisco limo and the other spent strolling around your favorite neighborhoods in our lovely city! - Get ready to be happy
If it has been a while since you did something fun and spontaneous together and you have forgotten why you get up and go to work every morning, rent a limo from us to rediscover why the two of you fell in love in the first place!
Renting a San Francisco limousine and taking a day or two to ride down the coast is a very effective antidote to the blahs. If you need a prescription for this serious but easily treatable condition, call us today at 800-339-8936 to speak with one of our clinicians. British Automaker Announces Debut of Super SUV Limo
Luxury British automaker Eterniti has announced that they will debut the world’s first “super sport utility vehicle limo” at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show. Eterniti officials say that the vehicle is entirely hand-made and they expect production to begin sometime in spring 2012. The super SUV is called the Hemera and features a limousine-style luxury cabin with electric reclining seats, a drink chiller, iPads and many other luxury appointments intended to set the automaker apart from other limo manufacturers and grow market share.
Eterniti says the Hemera is passed on the Porsche Cayenne platform and features four-wheel drive and a performance package that offers handling and road manners that more closely resemble a European coupe than a SUV. Eterniti officials are being cagey about what is under the Hemera’s hood, but they do say that this luxury SUV limo is capable of reaching speeds of 180 mph and offers incredible braking power of 620 bhp, or braking horsepower.
We do not currently offer any Eterniti luxury vehicles in our fleet of Bay Area limousines, party buses, antique vehicles and other luxury vehicles, but we do offer a wide range of SUV limos, including these:

Daimler Announces Plan to Discontinue Maybach Line of Luxury Vehicles
Daimler, owner of the venerable Mercedes-Benz line of luxury automobiles and the Maybach line of ultra-luxury vehicles has announced that they will discontinue producing Maybachs sometime in 2013. Daimler revived the Maybach brand around 11 years ago in an attempt to gain market share against the undisputed leader in the ultra-luxury auto segment, Rolls-Royce. Since its debut, Maybach sales have been disappointing, and there has been widespread speculation that Daimler would have to shelve the brand due to economic losses. Daimler CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche confirmed the company’s plans recently in an interview with a German newspaper, claiming that the company will focus more of its attention and resources on the Mercedes-Benz brand.
“We held extensive discussions internally about which way would promise the greatest success in the luxury segment, and we came to the conclusion that the sales chances for the Mercedes brand were better than that of Maybach. It would not be sensible to develop a successor model for the current Maybach,” Zetsche told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.
It’s easy to forget that Daimler reintroduced Maybach after missing an opportunity to purchase Rolls-Royce and Bentley a few years ago. BMW and Volkswagen bought these automakers, respectively. Maybach limousines sold for around $1 million each, and sales over the last several years have been a disappointing 200 or so units sold annually, insufficient volume for Daimler to keep the brand in production. The automotive press had received word that Daimler was in talks with Aston Martin to collaborate on keeping the Maybach brand alive, but talks between the two automakers were not successful.
We mourn the passing of the Maybach as it is truly one of the world’s great luxury automobiles. These vehicles are beautiful pieces of machinery inside and out, and, despite the fact that very few of us will ever own one, we hate to see the clean lines and striking profiles of these cars come to an end. We don’t offer any Maybach in our fleet of San Francisco limousines and other luxury vehicles, but we do offer a wide selection of vintage Rolls-Royce limos, contemporary Mercedes-Benz sedans and other luxury vehicles. For information on each model, rates and availability, please call us at NLS Limo today at 1-800-339-8936 to speak with one of our reservation specialists.
CPUC Issues Report on Limousine Companies
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the state agency that oversees limousine services and other for-hire transportation companies, recently released its summary of enforcement actions against ground transportation companies for the first quarter of 2011. The CPUC enforces regulations, issues licenses and oversees around 5,000 limousine services in our state, including NLS Limo, the premier San Francisco limousine service.
San Francisco Neighborhood Guide: North Beach
San Franciscans call this neighborhood by two names. One is North Beach, which fits this neighborhood’s current status as a trendy place to live, eat and shop. The other is Little Italy, which fits the neighborhood’s ethnic past and still-current identity. Book lovers call this San Francisco neighborhood by both names. However, to them, the name matters little; it’s the incredible new and used bookstores that have made this a Mecca for bibliophiles for many decades. You see, North Beach is home to our fair city’s most famous bookstore, City Lights. City Lights continues to draw readers from all over the world who yearn to sit, read and relax in the very same rooms where Ferlinghetti, Ginsberg, Kerouac and other literary giants wrote, read and hung out in days past.
Lincoln Introduces New MKT Model to Entice Limousine Services
Lincoln, Ford’s luxury branch of cars, limousines and SUVs, has rolled out a new crossover model it feels is perfect for limousine services here in the U.S. and around the world. The new Lincoln MKT crossover is being marketed as a possible replacement for the popular Lincoln Town Car models that have been mainstays of limo services in San Francisco and throughout the country. Since it has just become available, it’s too early to tell whether or not limo services will vote for the MKT with their checkbooks. However, insiders say that the MKT could fill a niche and complement, rather than replace, the Town Cars found in most luxury ground transportation fleets.

Designer of Latest Presidential Limousine Discusses Some (But Not All) of the Project
A few years ago, a supervisor asked Draganel “Dan” Magda, Senior Designer at General Motors’ Cadillac design studio, if he wanted to work on a special project. Magda agreed, not knowing that the special project was a new limousine for the President of the United States. Magda had designed Corvettes and Saturn vehicles for GM, but the specially modified Cadillac presidential limo would be a very different kind of challenge. Magda was born in what is now Serbia in 1956, and shortly thereafter, his father moved the family to Canada to escape Communism. When Magda was ten years old, the family moved to Detroit where he dreamed of being a car designer.
