Mirus Gallery 2016
Are you familiar with Montreal-based artists Alexandra Levasseur? Her paintings have been featured in Metal Magazine, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, and many other internationally renowned publications. Fortunately for Bay Area residents, this artist was featured about one year ago at Mirus Gallery right here in the heart of San Francisco. The event showcased two-dozen Lavasseur paintings, both in oil and acrylic. The Canadian painter explored the female body oftentimes amidst a surreal, nature-inspired setting. Within her series, Body of Land, the highly textured paintings explored concepts within vast and vulnerable outdoor settings such as the starry night sky and the crowded forest.

Fogo de Chão is a leading Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, which has specialized for more than 36 years in the centuries old Southern Brazilian cooking technique of churrasco – the art of roasting high quality meats over an open fire, and espeto corrido, or "continuous service", which allows guests to control the variety and pace of their dining experience. The company was founded in 1979 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and expanded into the U.S. in 1997. There are now more than 40 locations throughout Brazil, the United States and Mexico.

Explore the ways in which the pieces of our world work together and the ways in which we might digest the failures and successes that surround us on a local to global scale. Giants FanFest
Whether you live in the Bay Area, you’re an MLB fan, or both, you know which California team has won eight World Series titles and 23 National League pennants: the San Francisco Giants. Perhaps you even have a favorite retired-number ball player, such as Monte Irving, Willie Mays, or Bill Terry. No matter which Giants player most warms your heart, sport the black, orange, and cream, and don’t miss FanFest!
Snoop Dogg at the Regency Ballroom
Nicknamed Snoop by his mother for his appearance, Calvin Broadus Jr. was raised in Long Beach, California, where he frequently ran into trouble with the law. Not long after high school graduation, he was arrested, beginning a three-year period where he was frequently imprisoned. Able to find an escape from a life of crime through music, Snoop Dogg was introduced to the world in 1992 when he was prominently featured on Dr. Dre’s album “The Chronic.” Snoop quickly became one of the most famous stars in rap, partially because of his signature drawled rhyming style, and partially because his lyrics seemed to imply "realness" due to his troubled history. His much anticipated solo album “Doggystyle” was released in 1993 and was an instant success.
