Super Bowl 50: Golden Anniversary, Golden State

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on January 29, 2016

Super Bowl I was played in California, in Los Angeles to be exact, and the Vince Lombardi trophy will soon be returning to the Golden State for its 50th anniversary!

Did you know that both South Florida and New Orleans have each hosted the NFL’s championship game on ten occasions? The year of 2016, however, will only be the second time that this epic game is played in San Francisco, as the last Bay-Area-based Super Bowl game took place in 1985 featuring the Dolphins vs. the 49ers. It’s time to remind the world how its done here in the Bay Area! Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium is ready for the Denver Broncos (14-4) and Carolina Panthers (17-1) to come to a head.

Denver narrowly beat New England in the AFC Championship game to advance to the Super Bowl while Carolina pounded the Arizona Cardinals 49-15. Their roads through the regular season also offered different journeys, as Carolina only experienced one loss while Denver suffered through major injuries, a pseudo-controversy at QB, and some low spots in the season. According to some, Carolina’s one loss may be the only thing that separates them from breaking the undefeated record of the 1972 Miami Dolphins.

Here’s another interesting fact: Peyton Manning is the oldest starting quarterback in the history of the Super Bowl. Prior to that, the record was held by another Denver quarterback, John Elway, who is the current Executive Vice President of Football Operations/General Manager of the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos are a storied franchise. They’ve appeared in the ultimate game seven times, and there are only three teams that have made the trip eight times: Dallas, New England and Pittsburgh. Carolina, on the other hand, is one of 13 teams that have never won the Super Bowl: Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, San Diego Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Regardless of who wins the title, because Super Bowl 50 is taking place in our internationally renowned Bay Area of Northern California, you can be sure to have a good time. So, whether you plan to attend the game or bar hop with your friends, allow NLS Limo to drive so that you can focus on the festivities.
