TEDxBerkeley 2016: Finding X

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on January 26, 2016

What is the meaning of life? Okay. Most likely no one has the answer to this particular question, but on February 6th, 2016, from 10 am to 6 pm at the University of California Berkeley, this independently organized TED event will contemplate the ways in which we might approach life’s most difficult question. Explore the ways in which the pieces of our world work together and the ways in which we might digest the failures and successes that surround us on a local to global scale. From science to art, social issues to mathematics, this unique event will feature internationally renowned speakers such as:

  • United Nations Foundation CEO Kathy Calvin
  • Philanthropist Naveen Jain
  • Surgeon Dr. Susan Lim
  • Astrophysicist Andrew Siemion
  • Songwriter Sonia Rao
  • Journalist Stephanie Freid
  • Human Rights Expert Amandine Roche
  • …and many others.

Past events featured Flutist Viviana Guzman, Author Mike Robbins, Acrobat Vangelis Chaniotakis, Lawyer Roberto Hernandez, and many more.

This seven-hour event, hosted by ASUC/Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholars Association (RCSA), is $100 for general admission, $75 for University of California-Berkeley alumni, and $40 for UC Berkeley students and faculty. The conference will take place at 101 Zellerbach Hall, and tickets can be purchased online.

The first TED Talk was hosted over thirty years ago in 1984. Did you know that one of the first Apple computer demonstrations took place at that conference? 2016 will mark the sixth annual TEDxBerkeley event. Don’t miss this historic happening.

Between participants and guests, thousands of people will be flooding Zellerbach Hall on the morning of February 6th. While the energy will be powerful, navigating the campus and other nearby roadways might be dicey. Moreover, due to Super Bowl 50, Bay Area traffic will be trickier than ever. Visitors will be driving unfamiliar roadways, NFL fans will be celebrating, and the sheer volume of people in the area will cause bottlenecks, standstill, and unfortunately even increased amounts of accidents.
