Want to know our favorite thing about baseball? The seasons last so dang long! All the way from early spring to mid-fall, those players are running around their diamonds, hitting home runs, and making amazing double plays. It makes the heart ache just to think about all the baseball happening right now. Which is why we want to take today to highlight the already well-known fact that the Bay Area has not one but TWO amazing baseball teams. Between the two of them, there are enough home games happening in and around San Francisco to practically make it so that you never need to leave a ballpark.
Outside Lands, One of the Biggest Music Festivals in the Country, Returns to SF
These days, it can seem as though the amount of bands considered to be “necessary listening” is borderline incomprehensible. Especially if one is a fan of going and seeing the acts live, how is it possible to make it to all of the shows featuring beloved acts? Lack of time, money, and energy begin to take their toll, and soon we find ourselves wondering if it is even worth trying to go see live music anymore. Better to just stay home, make a pot of tea, and put some Keith Jarrett on the turntable. While we certainly understand this decision, we also know that for many of you it is not this easy. Which is why God invented the music festival.

Residents of San Francisco will tell you that the art, craft, and maker scene within this city is extraordinary. They are right. In fact, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to begin when it comes to experiencing and enjoying some of the locally produced artworks. Do you go to a local gallery? Swing by a crafting shop? For long-time residents of San Francisco, there’s no question that the summer is always a hotly anticipated time, and it’s not just the sun and the cloudless skies (although these certainly don’t hurt). Instead, it is the wealth of festivals, street fairs, parades, and cultural celebrations that seemingly burst from every corner of the city. One of the most exciting and famous of these festivals takes place during the last weekend of June, and instead of being relegated to just one street or neighborhood it takes over the entire city, draping the metropolitan area in a festive rainbow-colored glow.

We are speaking here of the Union Street Festival, one of the city’s most historic and beloved street fairs and a great way to bask in all of the best things that the City by the Bay has to offer.
