43rd Annual Union Street Festival
We’ve been spending some time on this blog looking at a few of the amazing festivals and street fairs that are taking place throughout San Francisco during the summer. Today, we are going to inform you about yet another event that falls in to the Not-To-Be-Missed category if you happen to find yourself in the Bay Area during the weekend of June 1st and 2nd. We are speaking here of the Union Street Festival, one of the city’s most historic and beloved street fairs and a great way to bask in all of the best things that the City by the Bay has to offer.
Celebrating its 43rd year, the Union Street Festival will take place within a section of Union Street that stands in the famed Marina District that runs from Gough Street to Steiner Street. This large swath will provide the thousands of people who attend the festival with plenty of room to wander around, shop, buy food and drinks, listen to music, and generally stand in awe of the communal spirit and vivacity showcased during the event.
The 43rd Annual Union Street Festival does things right, running from 10:00 in the morning until 6:00 at night both days of the weekend. This means that you won’t have to worry about getting there too early or arriving too late. It also means that you can easily eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner without ever leaving the fairgrounds.
Enjoy craft beer? How about California wine? Then the Union Street Festival is the place to be. It is also the place to be if you like:
- Homemade arts and crafts
- Photography
- Vintage clothing
- Gourmet food
- Street food
- Health & wellness items
- Cool new technology
- Fashion
- Live music
What we’re saying is that the Union Street Festival is a place to enjoy many of the things that make life so worth living, adding a nice jolt of happiness and positivity to a world that can often seem less than delightful.
Entrance to the Union Street Festival is totally free, although you will definitely want to bring some cash to enjoy the wares being sold from the many booths and vendors located in the festival grounds.
