So Many Marvelous Makers: Renegade Craft Fair Returns to San Francisco
Residents of San Francisco will tell you that the art, craft, and maker scene within this city is extraordinary. They are right. In fact, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to begin when it comes to experiencing and enjoying some of the locally produced artworks. Do you go to a local gallery? Swing by a crafting shop? Certainly these are both options, but there must be a better way to get a hefty dose of local handiwork.
For those of you who plan on being in or around the Bay Area on the weekend of July 13th and 14th, the solution to this problem is simple: Renegade Craft in San Francisco.
Renegade Craft is a country-wide event that takes place in numerous cities throughout the year, but that doesn’t mean that every place where it is held features the same events, booths, or creators. In fact, it is the entire ethos of Renegade to make sure that what the attendees of each of their events gets to experience is the unique qualities of each different city. This means that all of the makers and crafters who have booths and wares for sale at Renegade will be from the Bay Area.
What can you expect from the two days of Renegade? Certainly there will be handmade crafts and art. Also interactive exhibits, art installations, community meeting areas, and exquisite offerings of food and drink from some of San Francisco’s most respected and innovative chefs and bartenders.
Wow! That’s a lot of stuff. It must be spread out over quite a distance…
Hardly! One of the most appealing aspects of Renegade San Francisco is that it all takes place in the Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion. This already classy location is even more jazzed up during Renegade as it transforms from a pavilion into a vibrant marketplace for the makers and their goods.
Renegade Craft will be held on July 13th and 14th (Saturday and Sunday), going from 11:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening on both days. Entrance to Renegade is free, but you will definitely want to lug your wallet along in order to acquire some of the many highly desirable goods on sale.
