27th Annual Union Street Easter Parade & Spring Celebration
Are you ready for spring? We are! And to prove it, we want to share just how excited we feel about the upcoming 27th Annual Union Street Easter Parade & Spring Celebration. Taking place on April 1st, the event goes from 10:00 in the morning until 5:00 at night, giving you a whole day to join in the electrifying fun of breaking out of your winter slumber with thousands of others throughout the Bay Area.
Disposable Film Festival
San Francisco, with its stunning natural beauty, its long-standing artistic scene, and its unique multi-cultural heritage has become a benevolent home to the film industry. Although it doesn’t trade in the glamorous neon and gold displays of Hollywood, the Bay Area has nevertheless attracted the tastes of those looking for a somewhat less obvious (some might say more refined) film experience.
35th Annual San Francisco International Beer Festival
Beer.
Would it be fair to say that we almost love our parents as much? Would it be reasonable to admit that it fills us with a sense of the sublime as Edmund Burke understood it? Would it be socially acceptable to admit that waiting for the release of a certain dry-hopped IPA left us more emotionally exhausted than the birth of our second child?
Baseball Returns for the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A’s
You don’t need to be a huge fan of sports to enjoy going to a baseball game. As American as endless highways, Winnebagos, and Cliff Bars, baseball has been lodged into the psyche of our nation even before Kevin Costner decided to mow down his cornfield in order to play catch with his dead dad. Ever since the regular season ended last September, millions of people around the country have been watching their calendars, waiting for that beautiful spring day when the dugouts will disgorge teams prepared to battle one another over the course of the next six months for that enviable prize of the World Series title.
Holi (Festival of Color) Comes to San Francisco
The Indian celebration of Holi (known throughout the west as the Festival of Colors) is a celebration that takes place in India every spring. Like many such springtime festivals throughout the world, Holi serves a multitude of purposes, such as proclaiming the victory of Good over Evil, the repairing of broken friendships, and—most importantly—the end of winter. Holi also acts similarly to Thanksgiving in that it is a time to celebrate the experience of a good harvest as well as the closeness of family and friends. While many elements of this festival may seem familiar, there is one thing, perhaps its most unique aspect, that sets it apart.
International Chocolate Festival
Chocolate, perhaps the most notorious of all guilty pleasures (and, let’s be honest, most of us don’t even feel that guilty about it anymore), is already a staple of the Bay Area’s luxury food scene. All throughout the city, one can find fantastic chocolate made by some of the world’s most renowned chocolatiers.
Sonoma Wine Tours
Sonoma County is a place that any wine enthusiast in America should be aware of. It’s home to 60,000 acres of vineyards. On that acreage is a staggering 425 wineries, all producing the wine that we all love so much. That being said, if you whatever your interest level, making Sonoma County a part of your visit to San Francisco is an absolute must. You have a wealth of options when it comes to how you tackle your wine country tour. We’re here to give you some ideas about where your adventure can take you.
SF Chocoholic
San Francisco is known for a lot of things. The stunning bay, the breweries, the wineries of Napa Valley, the startups of Silicon Valley, and the Giants. You wouldn’t be shocked at all if I told you that we are known for our food. San Francisco is a hip and urban place to live, so our food definitely reflects that. For those of you that have a sweet tooth, instead of an urge to visit the latest Fusion restaurant with a good review on Yelp, let us recommend some great local places you can go to get your chocolate fix.
38th Annual San Rafael Holiday Parade & Winter Wonderland
San Rafael, one of the most charming towns within the Bay Area, will once again lure in revelers and merrymakers of all stripes for its annual Holiday Parade & Winter Wonderland! A month-long celebration of the holiday season, the Winter Wonderland itself lasts from the weekend of Thanksgiving until Christmas and features plenty of decorations, activities, shops, restaurants, and other delights that will satisfy even the most scrooge-like among us. The real fun, however, begins on November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving, when a parade and light show will kick off the Winter Wonderland.
San Francisco International Hip Hop Dance Festival
In 1993, a popular and incredibly skilled hip-hop dance teacher in San Francisco named Micaya decided to start putting on her own shows. Funded largely by her own means and the donations of friends and family, Micaya’s shows were an immediate success, and they began selling out almost immediately.
