Mirus Gallery 2016

Are you familiar with Montreal-based artists Alexandra Levasseur? Her paintings have been featured in Metal Magazine, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, and many other internationally renowned publications. Fortunately for Bay Area residents, this artist was featured about one year ago at Mirus Gallery right here in the heart of San Francisco. The event showcased two-dozen Lavasseur paintings, both in oil and acrylic. The Canadian painter explored the female body oftentimes amidst a surreal, nature-inspired setting. Within her series, Body of Land, the highly textured paintings explored concepts within vast and vulnerable outdoor settings such as the starry night sky and the crowded forest.
