Rolls-Royce Reports Record Sales for Third Year in a Row
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently announced record sales for the third year in a row. The legendary luxury automaker recorded a one percent sales gain in 2011-2012 from the previous fiscal year’s numbers with 3,575 models sold. A one percent increase in sales might not seem like a noteworthy achievement, but consider that in the previous two years, sales of Rolls-Royce automobiles increased 31 percent and a remarkable 150 percent, respectively. The automaker cites expansion into Central and South America as one of the primary reasons for their record sales, along with the slow but steady recovery of economic conditions across the globe.

Lincoln Plans to Add MKS Sedan to Limousine Services
Lincoln Limousine & Livery Vehicles, a division of Lincoln Motor Company, recently notified its dealers that they will now offer new Lincoln MKS sedan models as part of their limo/livery vehicle fleet program. Limousine services across the country will be able to purchase the new MKS sedans and enjoy the same warranty, support and pricing incentives that apply to other models in the limo/livery program, such as the Lincoln MKT Town Car, Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and the Lincoln Navigator. The new MKS sedan is expected to make its debut at the upcoming 2013 International LCT Show at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on Feb. 5.
New Limo Bus Offers Passengers Higher Profile and Better View
Group transportation vehicle manufacturer Ameritrans recently unveiled their new limo bus, which is expected to make its debut at the UMA Expo in Orlando, FL, on Jan. 22, 2013, and will be displayed at the upcoming 2013 International LCT Show exhibit hall in Las Vegas in early February. This new limo bus is built on the Ford F550 chassis, and it offers a very roomy cabin with ample space for passenger legroom and accommodations for guests in wheelchairs. Passengers will also sit a bit higher than they did in previous models, affording them a better vantage point for enjoying the scenery. FMCSA and B.C. Government Suspend Bus Operator After Tragic Crash
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the government of British Columbia recently suspended the license of a B.C.-based bus rental service after a tragic bus accident in Oregon that killed the driver and nine passengers. During their investigation into the accident, the FMCSA discovered that Mi Joo Tour & Travel failed to take basic measures to protect passengers by making sure that their drivers had sufficient rest for safe vehicle operations. The FMCSA and the B.C. government said that the bus service had a pattern and practice of scheduling and dispatching drivers on trips with little regard to the amount of hours they worked in a given period of time.
