The 2016 Social Media Summit
If your New Year’s resolution for 2016 was to grow your business and increase revenue, then the Social Media Summit is an excellent place to begin. While many business owners, marketing professionals, managers, strategists, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits understand that using social media effectively will help their businesses and startups grow and prosper, they lack the resources to fully understand how to leverage the power of online tools. Today’s consumers expect organizations to use social media intelligently and for online initiatives to align with other marketing strategies and core values. It is not only an asset to your business to know how to use social media effectively, it is a necessity to be competitive in nearly every industry.
The Zinfandel Experience 2016
The Zinfandel Experience is a three-day wine and culinary event produced by Zinfandel Advocates and Producers (ZAP) that celebrates California’s most famous grape. The event features legends and upcoming stars in the Zinfandel-making scene, and attracts wine lovers from all over the world. You’ll experience the classic character of zinfandel at five extraordinary events that take place from Thursday, February 25th to Sunday February 27th.
The Harlem Globetrotters at Oracle Arena
Known internationally as both amazing entertainers and ambassadors of goodwill, The Harlem Globetrotters are one of the oldest and most recognizable franchises in sports history. Their unique nicknames, ball handling wizardry, amazing trick shots, and comedic stunts combined with community service programs and exemplary sportsmanship have provided smiles to millions of fans around the world for decades. The famous team will bring their unrivaled family show to Oracle Arena in Oakland this January during their 90th Anniversary World Tour.
Best Beer in the Bay
Seriously southern cooking combined with gourmet twists, an extensive whiskey book, and a bounty of house-brewed beers make Southpaw BBQ a worthy brewery destination in the diverse Mission District. One of my personal favorites is to pair a pint of their Roll Tide Red Ale with some smoky chicken wings and a side of black pepper brie mac n’ cheese – ain’t nothing closer to true Southern hospitality in Northern California.
Morrissey Performs at San Francisco’s Masonic on December 29th
People that can float through life recognized by a single name are a rare breed. A few of the limited examples include Bono, Cher, Drake, Flea, Oprah, and Morrissey. On Tuesday December 29th at 8 pm at the Masonic Auditorium (1111 California Street, San Francisco), alt-rock star Morrissey will remind the Bay Area how he earned his fame.
Metric and Joywave at The Masonic
On Tuesday, February 23rd at The Masonic, Metric will showcase their lapidary talents. Formed in 1998, the soaring vocals of Emily Haines are accompanied by a sound that is sometime synth and sometimes indie. Metric defies categorization, but some music critics have labeled them new wave. Regardless, their music is reliably recognizable as Metric, yet it’s always completely new.
The Chris Robinson Brotherhood Plays The Fillmore
An evening with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a seamless blend of blues, rock, contemporary, and a 70’s vibe. The Fillmore, one of the Bay Area’s favorite venues, will host these stars on December 11th at 9 PM.
Christmas Day NBA Game
Christmas Day will offer up one of the most anticipated games of the year as the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers square off in a rematch of last year’s NBA Finals. These two National Basketball Association teams were the best in the league last season, and not much has changed. Experts anticipate seeing these two teams back in the Championship again. This game could be a sneak peak at what that might look like.
Weezer, Death Cab for Cutie, and Other Alt Rock Stars Play Oracle Arena
Weezer, Bastille, Halsey, Silversun Pickups, CHVRCHES, X Ambassadors, and Death Cab for Cutie are booked to play at Oracle Arena, in Oakland California on December 11th. This is an intense lineup of supremely talented bands that offer diverse experiences. From the pop jams of Weezer to the thought-provoking rock of the Silversun Pickups, from the moody and literate music of Death Cab For Cutie to the contemporary feel of CHVRCHES, this lineup seems too good to be true. The world-renowned music scene is yet another reason to love California’s Greater Bay Area.
Golden State Warriors vs. Milwaukee Bucks at Oracle Arena
Warriors! Warriors! Warriors! Last year some skeptical NBA fans claimed that the Golden State Warriors‘ 2014-2015 season achievements might have been equal parts luck and skill. The team has, however, tipped off the 2015-2016 season in an unprecedented fashion. The Warriors have already beaten multiple playoff teams. Moreover, while Steph Curry proved that last year’s MVP award was fully deserved, it’s clear that the Warriors are not a one-man team. Andrew Bogut continues to be a premier big man while Klay Thompson builds on his reputation as a top-shooting guard in the league. These NBA stars have continued to roll out their long list of versatile small-ball players including Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes, and Shaun Livingston.
