Chocolate. The word alone is enough to cause mouths to salivate, to cause eyes to glaze over, and to spur a burst of delight in the souls of wild beasts. It seems almost a crime for there to exist something so creamy and chocolaty. Something so delicious, something so decadent. How is one supposed to resist?
Well, if you’re in the Bay Area, you don’t have to! It’s no secret how much we love chocolate, and the city has numerous master chocolatiers crafting sinfully tasty treats to prove it. As if that weren’t enough, San Francisco also has several festivals throughout the year that are exclusively focused on chocolate. Interested? Of course you are.
Coming up in only a few weeks is the Craft Chocolate Experience. Located within the Palace of Fine Arts, the Craft Chocolate Experience will transform the Palace into a bustling chocolate marketplace/school/workshop where people of all ages can come and celebrate their love of chocolate.
A public event, the purpose of the Craft Chocolate Experience is to provide people with a greater understanding and appreciation for fine chocolates. With this in mind, the organizers have ensured that there will be far more to do than simply purchase and eat chocolate (although, it’s totally cool if you fail to do anything else).
Two main event sessions over the course of the weekend will fully coat attendees with chocolate knowledge. Within these sessions, which last the course of the entire day, from 11:00 in the morning until 5:00 at night, you can expect to listen to lectures by leading chocolate experts as well as watch demos by some of the world’s top chocolatiers. If you’re more of an experiential, then head on over to the marketplace where several dozen master chocolate makers will have samples of their wares for sale to all who desire.
About the marketplace: expect to find more than chocolate bars. Much, much more.
So, screw in your sweet tooth because we’re in for a looooooong weekend (March 6th through March 8th, to be precise) of treats that will make even the crankiest among you smile with delight as their cheeks flush with pleasure.
