Kicking Off Spring the Bay Area Way!
March can be a tricky time of year to do much traveling. Stuck at the end of winter, barely getting a taste of Spring, March can seem like an easy month to just sleep through. Unless, that is, you plan on traveling to San Francisco. San Francisco has a strict "No Month Left Behind" policy, and March is such a clear example of this fact. From the festivals to the parades, to the sporting events, March is when the Bay Area begins kicking back into high gear. We’ve compiled some of the more tantalizing events below for you to peruse, but don’t be misled into thinking that these are the only things happening around this time of year. They’re just the tip of the iceberg.
Stimulate Your Creative Side in San Francisco
As has been often pointed out, San Francisco is a hotbed for cultural activity and innovation. The city is one of the most creativity-minded places on earth, and this mean that visitors will find themselves surrounded by cultural and intellectual offerings of the top degree. In particular, the museums in San Francisco have gorged themselves on the uniqueness of the city. Take advantage of a rainy or cold day and spend a few hours in one or all of the following places. Also, keep in mind that this is only a partial list, as a complete roster of San Francisco’s museums, galleries, exploratoriums, and places of wonderment would be far beyond the scope of one article.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
The 2015 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be held February 9 to 15. This year’s event will be one of the biggest ever, but there are still transportation options available for the public and for the pros. Transportation is available to the Pebble Beach event from San Francisco International Airport, LAX, and the surrounding communities and airports.
Walking Tours in San Francisco
Getting to know a new city is a challenge. There are plenty of guidebooks and tourist maps to help you out, but they only amount to so much theory and only the smallest amount of practice. How much better it would be if there were people to show you around, if you could somehow manage to find a citizen of the city who loves San Francisco so much that they are willing to dedicate their time and energy to familiarizing you with her. Well, there are!
Craft Cocktails in San Francisco
Unless you live underneath a rock, you know that the craft cocktail movement is heavily upon us. Throughout the country, bartenders (sorry, mixologists) are pulling out all the stops to try and create the most decadent, memorable, and well-balanced cocktail ever. Like with most things, the coasts are where most of the energy is being divested and where the trend experiences its epicenter, and San Francisco especially finds itself at the core of a drink movement that many consider as being the zenith of beverage culture.
