Death Cab for Cutie
For many, this already-legendary band needs no introduction. This rock group is from Washington, and they’ve been labeled everything from alt rock to indie pop to emo. The current lineup includes founding member, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Gibbard; bassist Nick Harmer; and Jason McGerr on the drum set. The group’s debut album Something About Airplanes was released in 1998, and they’ve released seven epically popular studio albums since then. Kintsugi, the most recent, was released on March 31st of 2015 on Atlantic Records. This 2015 tour is their first without 1997-2014 band member Chris Walla.
Built to Spill
Fronted by Doug Martsch and founded in 1992, Built to Spill is an indie rock band from Idaho who has released eight full-length albums including their April 21st, 2015 album Untethered Moon. They’ve been influenced by Dinosaur Jr. and Neil Young, among many musical greats. “Broken Chairs,” “Girl,” “Still Flat,” “Aisle 13,” “Car,” and “Living Zoo” are among their many popular songs.
