As the number of COVID-19 cases continue to decrease in California, Governor Gavin Newsome updated the state’s guidelines over the weekend and announced that outdoor venues will be permitted to allow a limited number of spectators starting on April 1st, 221. According to a press release on their website, the San Francisco Giants are thrilled to invite approximately 8,000 of their fans back to Oracle Park. “We want to share this experience with the fans. In some ways, we feel like the game is not fully the game without our fans around. It kind of feels like we’re in a partnership with them, so we feel like something is missing when they’re not in the stands,” stated Gabe Kapler, the team’s current manager.
Although the stadium will only be operating at 20% capacity for the time being, the health & wellness of visitors to their stadium is, and will continue to be the organization’s #1 priority. Fans will still be required to wear an approved mask and will need to remain socially-distanced from people that are not in your group or party.
