Celebrate Pinkmas, the Museum of Ice Cream’s Holiday Event
Ice cream. Without it, what would we be? Barbarians? Cave people? Theories abound, but one thing is for certain: ice cream is one of the hallmarks of civilization and something that everyone should spend a lot more time thinking about. If you’re like us, you’ve often caught yourself wondering if there was some sort of space where you could go to revel in your love of ice cream with fellow epicureans. Well, if you are in the Bay Area, then we have just the thing for you: the Museum of Ice Cream!
While the Museum of Ice Cream is a worthwhile destination no matter what time of year, the holiday season is especially bright and flavorful. Why? Because this is when the museum transforms itself into an interactive space where there is only one thing on everyone’s mind: the celebration of Pinkmas.
Because Pinkmas is only entering its second year of existence, it is forgiven if the term is unfamiliar to you. Simply phrased, it will be a chance to wander through the museum’s 12,000 square-foot space and marvel at the lights, the snowflakes, the candy canes, and, of course, the many, many, many pink trees.
Throughout your Pinkmas experience, you will be treated to numerous interactions with staff who will share with you messages of love, peace, and hope. Whether or not this is in the form of making personalized ornaments, helping to decorate those pink trees, or sampling some of the many decadent sweets made at the Museum of Ice Cream is totally up to you!
Some of the many exciting exhibits on hand during Pinkmas include:
- Marye’s Diner – More than just a classic eatery where a delicious beverage will be offered to guests, Marye’s Diner will share some of the many ways that the holidays are celebrated throughout the world.
- Sprinkle Pool – After proving your mettle at the Candy Cane Dance, guests will have the chance to enjoy a delicious Smashmallow Rice Krispie Treat while they leap into the beloved Sprinkle Pool.
- Pink Forest – The entrance into the Museum of Ice Cream, this will be where you are inaugurated into the mysteries and magic of Pinkmas by being offered your first ice cream sandwich of the day. After your snack, stick around to make ornaments for the trees using lids from ice cream containers!
There will be plenty more to do at the Museum of Ice Cream during Pinkmas, so we can’t wait to see you there!
