Film, food, and fine wine. A perfect evening! A marvelous lifestyle! Or, if you happen to be in Napa Valley this November, a great film festival featuring screenings, tastings, seminars, classes, and a chance to be surrounded by others who love cinema and cuisine as much as you do.
The Napa Valley Film Festival turns 9 this year, an exciting prospect for all of those involved as well as for those planning to attend even just one of the 75 different films playing throughout the five days of the festival. These movies, the focus of the event, exist in 8 separate categories, including narrative features, documentaries, short films, animated films, and international films. In short, there will be something for everyone, no matter what your cinematic tastes happens to be. Comedy? Drama? Thriller? You’ll find a bit of everything at the 9th Annual Napa Valley Film Festival.
Included in that bit of everything is wine from over 100 different wineries scattered throughout the area. With the excellent soil quality found in the Napa Valley, it has become one of the top areas of the world when it comes to wine production. But don’t just take it from me! At the festival, sommeliers and vintners will be on hand to offer classes, seminars, and standard tastings, giving you a chance to ask them first hand just what it is that makes the Napa Valley such a marvelous place to grow and ferment grapes.
What would wine and film be without food? Not to worry! The Napa Valley Film Festival knows well that you need more than just liquid and stories to sustain you, and so the organizers of the festival have worked hard to ensure that there are many things to do (i.e. eat) after the screenings – or just skip the screenings altogether and attend the many educational activities centered around food, from parties connected with the festival to demonstrations of culinary skill or technique.
With the braided delights of film, wine, and food at your fingertips, you will certainly be hard pressed to find a better November activity than the Napa Valley Film Festival, which takes place in various locations throughout Napa Valley from the 13th of November until the 17th.
