Even the name sounds delicious. The San Francisco 6th Annual Fall Chocolate Salon features unlimited tastings from over 30 of the Nation’s best chocolatiers, confectioners, wineries, and other culinary artisans. The Salon also features chef and author talks, wine tastings, and ongoing interviews by TasteTV’s Chocolate Television program (yes, it’s a real thing). But it’s not just chocolate you’ll find at the salon. The salon is known to host unique gifts and other goodies such as wine, artwork, jewelry, books, beauty products, home decor and more… all inspired by the taste, aroma, and beauty of chocolate.
If you’re looking for something the locals love to do, you might consider the Farmers’ Market, the Symphony, or seasonal events such as Waterfront Weekend or the Northern California Pirate Festival.
San Francisco is nationally renowned for its literary community. Amy Tan, Michael Chabon, Dave Eggers, and Lemony Snicket are only a few of the dozens of exceptional authors whose roots are in the Bay Area. Moreover, this Northern California literary scene offers diversity in genre and is known for its interdisciplinary nature. San Francisco’s writerly and readerly landscape is truly unique.
The San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival is a true Bay Area tradition, and 2015 will mark the race’s 20th year. This event, which is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, features 40-foot dragon boats. Don’t miss these fantastic creatures as they take their stage, the water, on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th, from 10 am until 5 pm. Dragon boat racing is both a sport and an art.
