Wine Tasting, Lectures, and Hobnobbing at the Livermore Barrel Tasting Weekend
Barrel Tasting weekends in the Livermore Valley are a one-of-a-kind experience. It all begins with the drive from the city out into the Livermore Valley, where the lush greens and rolling hills are dotted with grape vines. This historic area is home to some of the country’s best soil for growing wine grapes, and it is therefore only sensible that some of the country’s best wine manufacturers are calling this area home.
If you’ve ever looked into traveling to the Livermore Valley but have become overwhelmed by the sheer number of vineyards to choose from, then we have the perfect event for you. Something that will satisfy your desire to escape from the city for a day as well as treating your pallet to a stunning variety of high-quality wines grown from our rich Californian soil.
This year’s spring Barrel Tasting Weekend will take place over the course of the weekend of March 21st, at the Martinelli Center in the heart of Livermore. On Saturday, the 21st, the event kicks off at 10:00 in the morning when a luscious brunch will be served for all ticket holders. This brunch will be a pairing of some of the region’s best food with some of the region’s best wines, featuring a menu that includes:
- Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese
- An Omelette Station
- Fresh Baked Pastries
- Freshly Cut Fruit
- Mimosas, Tea, Juice and, of course, wine.
Tickets to the event will come with free admittance to all of the wineries/distilleries/breweries participating in the Barrel Tasting Weekend as well as two complimentary tastings of their specific beverages. Tickets also include numerous other discounts throughout the Livermore Valley, a souvenir glass, and a beautifully printed, full-color program that will quickly become one of the most cherished items within your home or apartment.
Worth noting: while the purchasing of a ticket will gain you the above-mentioned perks as well as admittance to various special events taking place throughout the valley during this period of time, you are invited to travel through the area without a ticket as all the wineries are still open to the public throughout the event.
