Super Bowl City 2016

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on January 22, 2016

All eyes are on the Bay this February for the Golden Super Bowl, but the party starts way before kick-off. The San Francisco-based host committee promises to make the annual Super Bowl City “loud, proud, inclusive and authentic, just like the Bay Area itself.” Super Bowl City is annually presented in the week prior to the big event, and is the host committee’s free-to-the-public fan village designed to celebrate and highlight its unique place in the host city. Open January 30th – February 7th this year, the interactive theme park experience will be the hub of fan energy and excitement leading up to game day at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Super Bowl City 2016 will be held at the Moscone Center and will feature family-friendly activities for fans of all ages. It will offer a fun – and free – way for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the extravaganza that is Super Bowl 50. In a break from tradition, Super Bowl City 2016 will be open for an extra weekend, providing many local residents the opportunity to experience the excitement before out-of-towners arrive.

Super Bowl City 2016 will be designed to showcase the best the Bay Area has to offer, with interactive games and activities that highlight the region’s technological achievement, culinary excellence, and cultural diversity. From exciting performances and displays that highlight the artistic and cultural vitality of the region, to locally prepared foods that capture the Bay Area’s unique culinary spirit, to several NFL-themed activities, there is something for everyone at Super Bowl City. The main attraction is The Fan Energy Zone, which celebrates the Bay Area’s leadership in technology and innovation, and will showcase the latest in interactive gaming, social media and data visualizations. It will also include three different but interlinked areas: the Fan Dome, the Fan Wall and the Fan Stage.

  • The Fan Stage will showcase a wide variety of free live musical, cultural, and performing arts entertainers, and will serve as a presentation space for community partners, celebrity appearances, autograph signings, and the main space for the DJs and MCs. Fifteen-time Grammy Award winning artist Alicia Keys will headline and close out the festivities on Saturday, February 6th with a free concert!
  • In the 40-foot tall Fan Dome, fans have the opportunity to become NFL players as they step into interactive games. Fans play as digital avatars on giant screens and their movements are replicated by motion sensors that light up the dome.
  • The Fan Wall is a 50-foot wide by 15-foot tall video wall that will capture the visual excitement of Super Bowl City. It will display the leaderboards and stats from the Fan Energy Zone games, user-generated content, social media visualizations, and live video feeds from around Super Bowl City.
