San Francisco Giants Season at AT&T Park
With the end of the Winter and the coming of Spring visitors (and residents) of San Francisco can look forward to any number of different things. The warmer weather for certain, the blooming flowers, the softened breezes, and, of course, the return of the San Francisco Giants to AT&T Park for their 2017 season.
Considered by many to be a modern baseball dynasty, the Giants have been to numerous World Series over the past few years, winning three of them since 2010. Their last win was in 2014, making it seem as though even years were something of a blessing for the team (with their wins taking place on 2010, 2012, and 2014), but 2016 was a proved to be a dud when they lost a playoff series to the curse-breaking Cubs. Now, however, the team is back, ready to shake off a small curse of their own: the curse of odd years.
With their players freshly out of Spring Training, and with the new closer Mark Melancon to beef up the bullpen, the Giants are setting themselves up for a dynamite season full of home runs, grand-slams, and ground rule doubles. Will they be able to destroy their longtime rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers? How about their other rivals, the New York Yankees? And of course, who can forget about their formidable rivals, the Oakland Athletics? Also worth mentioning are the rivalries the G-Men have with the Philadelphia Phillies, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago Cubs. The stack of enemies seems to grow taller with each passing year, making nearly every game a heated exchange between opposing forces.
If you want to get in on the fun, start shopping now for your tickets to the beautiful and newly renovated AT&T Park. This location has everything you could want from a sports stadium, which is probably what led to its being named the 2008 Sports Facility of the Year by influential magazines like Sports Business Journal and the Sports Business Daily. Some of the many vendors located within the park are:
- Blue Moon Bar
- Ghirardelli
- Murph’s Clubhouse Pub
- Vintage 58 Wine Bar
- Chef Evan Rich Presents Porcini Doughnuts
- Baby Bull Tri-Tip Sandwiches
- Cotton Candy
Plenty of different vendors selling official Giants memorabilia and paraphernalia.
The Giants 2017 season kicks off with a home-series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. As of this writing, there is no rivalry between these two teams, but as all sports fans know, anything is possible!
