International Street Food Cooking Class

Do you love to travel and explore new cuisines? Are you always trying the latest and greatest food truck? Then you don’t want to miss Parties That Cook’s International Street Food cooking class, which takes place at their North Beach kitchen on January 8th. In this hands-on cooking class, they’ll teach you how to prepare an array of savory and sweet street food favorites from around the world.

You’ll start by rolling falafel so light and fluffy you’ll think you were back in the old city of Jerusalem. Then cross the globe to Vietnam where you’ll prepare a miniature Banh Mi with a homemade pickled carrot slaw. You’ll toss pizza dough to create a classic Italian Margherita and then bounce to Brazil to make crispy Fish Croquettes with Persimmon Aioli. Your culinary journey will end in Argentina where you’ll learn two classic techniques to create an iconic street sweet – no passport required! Here’s what’s on the menu:

• Sparkling Wine Cocktail
• Falafel (Israel)
• Banh Mi Meatball & Pickled Carrot Sandwiches (Vietnam)
• Handmade Flour Tortillas with Grilled Steak and Pico de Gallo (Mexico)
• Pizza Margherita (Italy)
• Brazilian Fish Croquettes with Persimmon Aioli (Brazil)
• Dulce de Leche Crepes (Argentina)

Not only will you learn to prepare these delicious street foods, you’ll get to taste each dish as you go, and maybe even make a few new friends! Each one of Parties That Cook’s public cooking classes are a social gathering, where you are encouraged to interact with other culinary enthusiasts as you learn to prepare delicious new recipes.

And while wine will be served as part of the class, participants are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine of their choice (from anywhere in the world!) to share with the group. The class takes place on Friday, January 6th at the Parties That Cook Kitchen (271 Francisco Street, San Francisco, California 94133). Appetizer-sized portions of all menu items will be served and students will also receive electronic copies of all recipes. Tickets are $95 per guest, and must be purchased in advance from the Parties That Cook website.
