Friday Nights At The Oakland Museum of California
Every Friday Night from 5 to 9 PM, the OMCA offers half-priced admission to adults – and kids 18 and under can enter the gallery for free!
The gallery isn’t the only feature showcased on Friday Nights at OMCA. Dance the evening away at a family-friendly night market. Live music themes change weekly, and dance lessons are offered regularly. Each week, museum-goers have the opportunity to participate in free hands-on artist workshops, and, although children are always welcome, select evenings include a thirty-minute story time just for the little ones.
For the adults in the group, the Blue Oak beer garden offers the best in local brews and fine wine. Additionally, OMCA hosts the Makers & Tasters Series: topics of discussion and demonstration range from coffee roasting to organic farming and much more, and many nights, Whole Foods’ local vendors showcase their creations, as well.
Finally, the museum’s gardens are open during Friday Nights at OMCA. In fact, the vibrantly colored, urban-inspired, and larger-than-life sculptures are many visitors’ favorite facets. Additionally, the grounds house a serene koi pond, lush grass, handsome foliage, and, once the sun sets, the intricate lighting offers a setting nothing short of picturesque.
