May Festivities in San Francisco

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on March 7, 2016

As many natives already know, May in San Francisco was practically made for outdoor activities and boozy festivals. The combination of the nearly perfect weather with two annual beer and wine festivals and city-wide Mardi Gras and Cinco de Mayo celebrations make The Bay one sweet place to be in the heart of Springtime.

Uncorked: The San Francisco Wine Festival

May 7th | Ghirardelli Square | http://www.ghirardellisq.com/

Ghirardelli Square will host the 11th Annual Uncorked! Wine Festival. In partnership with a local non-profit organization, Save the Bay, Uncorked! is a public event which provides an opportunity to taste, learn and experience wine from throughout Northern California. You’ll enjoy top tier wines, delicious local food, and live music and entertainment throughout the courtyards of Ghirardelli Square as well as on the adjacent Beach Street during this annual festival.

Cinco de Mayo Festival

May 7th | Dolores Park | http://mncsf.org/sfcincodemayo/

Bring a picnic basket and enjoy music, kid’s activities, entertainment, food, arts and crafts at this all day, family-friendly celebration.

San Francisco International Beer Festival

May 21st | Fort Mason Center | http://sfbeerfest.com/

Sample more than 300 incredible beers from some of the best craft brewers in the world as well as a variety of offerings from some of San Francisco’s best restaurants – all while supporting a great cause. Since 1984, the San Francisco International Beer Festival has raised money for the Telegraph Hill Cooperative Nursery School. The event staff consists of the proud parents of Tel-Hi’s preschool students. They donate their time and efforts to bring you this historic San Francisco festival – the oldest beer festival on the west coast.

Carnaval

May 28th-29th | Mission District | http://www.carnavalsanfrancisco.org/

Celebrating its 38th anniversary, this is San Francisco’s version of Mardi Gras and one of the largest annual public events in the city. It features exotic Carnival dancers with a mixture of Latino, jazz, samba, Caribbean influences. The festive parade on Sunday morning draws upon a broad cultural influence – as does the food, drinks, and entertainment options at this Mission District celebration.
