How Weird Day and Street Faire

What would you say if I told you that the 6th of May was recently crowned the official How Weird Day for San Francisco? And then what would you say if I told you that the official How Weird Day also featured and entire How Weird Street Faire? FINALLY: What would you say if I told you that the theme for this year’s How Weird Street Faire was that magical, memorable, mellifluous, multi-cultural, multi-dimensional, and monolithic decade of 1970? There is a good chance that after knowing all of this you would be rendered speechless and therefore unable to say anything, but, can you feel your beating heart? Can you feel the electric weird energy building to critical mass within you?

That’s what How Weird Day is all about, friend.

The How Weird Street Faire is coming to downtown San Francisco for the 19th time in 19 years. Running between Howard Street and 2nd Street, the faire takes place at the core of San Francisco’s bustling art and technology center and features numerous highlights such as:

• The How Weird Marketplace: including booths that cater to tantric practices, record collectors, a global village worth of crafts, local food with international flavors, local brews with international flavors, and some things that cannot be described in words.
• A cannabis-centric Green Alley Stage where you can see numerous speakers talk about the importance of this plant, its growing acceptance throughout the country, and how to purchase and consume responsibly; while there will be no sale of cannabis at the How Weird Day Street Faire, Green Alley will host numerous booths from local cannabis vendors displaying various wares and devices for your consideration.
• Tons of live music, DJs, and other types of performances to bend your mind and send you into boogie-woogie heaven.

Getting access to all of this must come with a steep price tag, right? Wrong! While the How Weird Street Fair is not free, the $15 advance ticket price ($20 for day-of) gives you access to all the above mentioned wonders, 10 stages of live music, a parade of weirdos and weird beards, and the knowledge that your participation in this funky event will help the nonprofit World Peace Through Technology Organization.
