Give Me Pinot Or…Just Give Me Pinot: PinotFest 2019

Pinot noir. One of the finest varieties of grape, one of the most sought after wines. Unfortunately, all this demand means that a lot of bad pinot noirs wind up sloshing their way up the wine distribution pyramid. Nothing dampens the party more than an unpleasant wine suddenly finding its way into everyone’s glasses.

If you identify as a lover of the pinot grape, and if you are looking for an event that will blend together your admiration for the variety as well as your strong desire to drink only the finest vintages of this fruit, then you are going to want to mark the 16th of November on your calendar. On this day, from 2:00 in the afternoon until 5:00, Farallon on Post Street will become the site of its 21st Annual Pinot Noir Bacchanalia!

One of the most popular events to highlight a specific wine within the city by the bay, PinotFest 2019 (AKA The Great Big Bacchanalia) exists to offer connoisseurs, fans, and lovers of liquid night to gather together in order to sample over 50 different wines from vineyards throughout Oregon and California. In addition to these, a pop-up pinot booth will be at the event featuring wines from New Zealand.

Wine will be joined by tantalizing hors d’oeuvres and other treats which are being designed precisely to go along with particular flavor profiles, and as you wander through the building you will have numerous opportunities to talk to the vintners themselves about their wines, their process, their passion.

In honor of the PinoFest’s 21st year, the organizers are bringing back the fabulously popular Early Bird VIP package. The lucky purchasers of these tickets will have the chance to join in a special hour-long tasting event that includes specialty pinot noir wines that are much older and have been cellared. If you’ve been hankering for some extremely rare wines, this is your chance to dip into that particular pot.

PinotFest 2019: The Great Big Bacchanalia takes place on November 16th at the Farallon, located on the 4th floor of 450 Post Street within San Francisco. Tickets run from $125 up to $185.
