Gee-Wiz, It’s the Cheese Biz at the 5th Annual San Francisco Cheese Fest

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on September 6, 2019

It is true that when people think of cheese they think of places such as Wisconsin or France. With the amount of history located in each of these places that revolves specifically around cheese, it is not surprising that they get the bulk of the credit for bringing the tasty, complex goodness of cheese to the world. HOWEVER: would it surprise you to learn that California is also a top competitor when it comes to places to find amazing cheese? Regardless of your answer to that question, you will not want to miss the exciting adventure that is headed your way this September at the Fifth Annual San Francisco Cheese Fest.

While the appeal is international, the focus of SF Cheese Fest is the state of California. Taking place on Saturday, September 14th, at the Social Hall located along 1270 Sutter Street, SF Cheese Fest will include more than 20 different cheesemakers who are official Guild members and masters at the craft of producing exquisite cheeses. At this event, all stops will be pulled, with these master cheesemakers working to dazzle your senses and wow your tastebuds with their cheeses.

Whether you go for the specialized funk of limburger or are into the sharpness of a nicely aged cheddar, there will be something for you at the Fifth Annual SF Cheese Fest. The California cheesemongers attending the event will pull out all the stops as they offer samples to you from some of the state’s most renowned cheese facilities, including:

  • Cypress Grove Cheese
  • Cowgirl Creamery
  • Di Stefano Cheese

Joining these old hands at the cheese business will be some of the younger practicing members of the craft, cheesemakers such as:

  • WM Cofield Cheesmakers
  • Moonside Creamery
  • Bivalve Dairy
  • Folly Cheese Co.

After tasting the cheese, or in between sampling, you can enjoy a whole meal provided by Gus’s Community Market, Mission Cheese, or The Cheese School of San Francisco. Or, nibble your way through a variety of specialty meats, jams, pickles, and chocolate.

All this eating will no doubt make you thirsty, a factor that the minds behind SF Cheese Fest have anticipated and solved by inviting some of the Bay Area’s best cider makers and brewers to the event. And while you drink, eat, and make merry, you can listen to the marvelous gypsy jazz sounds of the legendary San Francisco band, Gaucho.

Tickets for the Fifth Annual San Francisco Cheese Festival are on sale now.
