South San Francisco, known as “The industrial City” is a city in San Mateo County. It is located near the major cities of San Francisco and San Jose. Recognized by its huge letters alongside the mountain that read “South San Francisco Industrial City”, the letters are one of the historic resources designated as sites of significant historical value.
