Nob Hill Masonic Center
The Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco has been a popular multi-use venue for the Bay Area since 1958. Today, it primarily features concerts from the biggest names in music, with occasional special events such as college graduations, corporate gatherings and other shows and demonstrations. Many famous comedy acts also grace its stage. The venue is operated by Live Nation, one of, if not the, largest concert promotion company in the United States.
About the Masonic Center
To locals, the Nob Hill Masonic Center is also referred to as the Masonic Temple, Masonic Auditorium, or simply, The Masonic. It is primarily known for its musical offerings, but the temple is also home to the Grand Lodge of California and the Henry W. Coil Library. The Grand Lodge is the headquarters for the Masons of California, which does a variety charitable work and community outreach, as well as educational programs in civics and leadership. The Henry Wilson Coil Library is the main resource center for the Masons of California, providing a wide range of learning materials and publications.
Live Music and Comedy
The Masonic Center has had some of the biggest acts in music and comedy perform on-stage. Whether it is pop-music, rhythm & blues, rap, classic rock, alternative rock, or adult contemporary, the major musical players have performed here. Past and future acts include My Morning Jacket, Al Green, Nick Jonas, Josh Groban, Heart, and many more. Comedy giants such as Wanda Sykes, Lewis Black, Margaret Cho and others. As noted, the venue is operated by Live Nation, who recently merged with Ticketmaster to promote comedy and musical concerts at large venues across the United States. Nob Hill Masonic Center is one of their most popular venues, and continues to host the country’s most exciting artists.
