Time To Play Ball

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on June 26, 2015

It’s baseball season again in the Bay Area. That means hot dogs, popcorn and beer. There will be the seventh inning stretch and singing “Take me out to the ballgame.” The Bay Area has two teams for people to watch.

The Giants

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series last year and are making a strong push toward the pennant this year. The Giants have one of the longest established traditions in Major League Baseball. They were originally from New York and relocated to the Bay area in 1958 season. The team’s colors are orange and gold.

In recent years, the Giants have been the best team in baseball and one of the biggest attractions in the city. The team has won three of the last five World Series’, cementing themselves as one of Major League Baseball’s storied franchises.

The team plays at AT&T Park, located in the South Beach area of San Francisco. The stadium opened in 2000 and is famous for baseballs that are hit out of stadium in right field and land in McCovey Cove.

The A’s

The Oakland Athletics are one the original franchises of Major League Baseball. The team moved from Kansas City to Oakland in 1968. The Athletics have gained additional popularity in the recent years due in part, to the 2003 book “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game” by Michael Lewis. It was later turned into a movie with Brad Pitt.

The team has a great history. It won three World Series’ in the 1970s and three in the 80s. They has made the playoffs most years and are always in contention for the American League West title.

The Athletics play at O.co Coliseum, originally called the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum. The 35,067-seat stadium is located a few blocks off the bay in Oakland.

Access To The Parks

Both AT&T Park and the O.co Coliseum are difficult to access. They are both in busy areas and driving to and from the stadiums in a car can be challenging. That’s why you should consider a limousine, party bus, or charter bus rental when you take in a baseball game. You will get first-rate service right to the gate and a car will be waiting for you when the game is finished. NLS Limo would be honored to take you and yours to one of your favorite a baseball game.
