Are you familiar with Montreal-based artists Alexandra Levasseur? Her paintings have been featured in Metal Magazine, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, and many other internationally renowned publications. Fortunately for Bay Area residents, this artist was featured about one year ago at Mirus Gallery right here in the heart of San Francisco. The event showcased two-dozen Lavasseur paintings, both in oil and acrylic. The Canadian painter explored the female body oftentimes amidst a surreal, nature-inspired setting. Within her series, Body of Land, the highly textured paintings explored concepts within vast and vulnerable outdoor settings such as the starry night sky and the crowded forest.
As we reflect fondly on this past Mirus Gallery event, we’re thrilled to explore the venue’s current showing. Aesthetically quite different but equally as exciting, the work of Felipe Pantone is currently showcased within the heart of San Francisco. Until February 20th, 2016, Mirus Gallery will host Felipe Pantone’s W3-Dimensional. Pantone’s street art can be seen in Switzerland and Norway, but right here in our Bay Area you can witness some of Pantone’s other energetic contemplations. You won’t want to miss this California exhibit as featured in Juxtapoz online.
Mirus Gallery, one of Bay Area’s loveliest visual art venues, hosts only the most talented of emerging and established artists: Kevin Early Taylor, Vesod, Zio Ziegler, Jen Mann, LX One, Clark Goolsby, Casey Cripe, David Choong Lee, and Joshua Dildine are only a handful of the gallery’s former exhibiting artists. This venue, located at 540 Howard Street, is owned and curated by the highly respected Paul Hemming, an internationally admired art dealer. One of the reasons that California natives adore Hemming’s gallery is because he only features exceptional art, yet he explores a vast range of styles, mediums, origins, and more.
