Laugh It Up At The Book Of Mormon

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on June 26, 2015

Laughter is always the best medicine. That exactly what you will get when attending the traveling Broadway production of the Book of Mormon. Created by Trey Parker, and Matt Stone, the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of South Park, the musical is a whimsical look at religion and the life of young Mormon missionaries.

The play is schedule be at the Orpheum Theatre on Market Street in San Francisco until July 27th.

Tony Award Winning

The musical was written in collaboration with Robert Lopez. A Tony-award winning writer, Lopez has also written music for Broadway musical Avenue Q and the award winning Disney movie Frozen. Book of Mormon received 10 awards at the 2011 Tony awards, including Best Musical, Best Lighting Design of a Musical and Best Scenic Design of a Musical. The musical played to sold-out audiences on Broadway and a traveling company is bringing the production to San Francisco. It recently picked up four Olivier Awards, the UK version of the Tony awards.

The Little Story

Book of Mormon took almost seven years to write and involved research and multiple meetings between the development team. After several ideas were tried, the writers decided upon a story about two young Mormon missionaries who are sent to a remote village in northern Uganda. Naïve and optimistic, the two missionaries try to share the Book of Mormon and have difficulty connecting with the native population.

Strong Presence In SF

Since hitting town at the Orpheum Theatre, the musical has received nothing but praise. The San Francisco Chronicle said the musical is “joyously raunchy” and added that the production “sets the tone and provokes gales of laughter right from the start when a beaming chorus of clean-cut young missionaries in the ebullient doorbell-studded ‘Hello!’ number kicks the satire into gear.”

If you are attending the Book of Mormon, you should make it an entire evening on the town. That would include dinner at one of San Francisco’s finest restaurants and dessert and drinks after the play. To make the evening perfect, you should rent a limousine from NLS Limo. You will get the finest service and your ride will create the perfect package for a night on the town. Please contact us at your convenience: 800-339-8936.
