San Francisco Spring Film Festivals

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on April 1, 2015

San Francisco hosts tons of film festivals throughout the year. In any given month you can check out a range of festivals featuring everything from international films to local or niche viewings. Summer is the busiest time for film festivals, but the festival season kicks into gear as early as April. Here are the best San Francisco film festivals coming up in April and May.

Food & Farm Film Fest

April 17 – 18

This film fest features pairings from local chefs, and proceeds go to Three Squares, a nonprofit offering nutrition and cooking classes in low-income communities. The films are also food themed, and cover topics like ‘Are sugar executives the new drug dealers?’ and ‘What is radical mycology?’ Tickets also include entry to the opening night celebration at Four Barrel Coffee.

San Francisco International Film Festival

One of the biggest film festivals of the year, the San Francisco International Film Festival hosts hundreds of famous guests for a week of screenings from around the world. It’s the longest-running film festival in the Americas, and is world renowned for its contribution to cinema. This year’s lineup isn’t announced yet, but last year’s festival featured 263 screenings from 51 countries.
