Flavor! Napa Valley

Over the course of the past century, Napa Valley has routinely proven itself to hold as much potential for great wines as anywhere else in the world. In fact, it is now common knowledge that the best wines grown in this fertile California region easily rival the best wines grown throughout Italy and France.  

To celebrate their impressive roster of superior wines, Napa Valley vineyards work together every spring to produce the wildly popular Flavor! Napa Valley.  Taking visitors on a memorable tour through the picturesque region with its sprawling views of mist-soaked fields and vineyards thick with purple grapes clustered beneath wide green leaves, Flavor! Napa Valley is a chance for Northern California’s wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs to gather together for one wine-soaked week.

Flush with special events, Flavor! Napa Valley will see the gathering together of many of the most respected and hallowed figures in California’s world-renowned wine and food fields.  Special classes will be offered that focus on everything from the history of Napa Valley to lectures honing in on specific varietals such as Cabernets and rare or collectible wines.

Some of the specific offerings include:

• Wine Class: A True Sense of Place—Focusing on the jealously guarded grapes grown in the Kalon Vineyard, this class will include a presentation by master vintners Andy Beckstoffer and Genevieve Janssens.
• Terroir to Table—This hour-long session will broaden your taste vocabulary as you sample four estate grown wines from the St. Supéry vineyard.  Come learn how to pair memories with smell and taste which will ultimately lead you to a more distinguished palate.
• Pink Out!—The world is currently in the grips of a new fascination with rosé and sparkling wines.  Formerly believed to be the fare of the undereducated, these wine varieties are experiencing a newfound surge of respect, which is why master Sommelier Traci Dutton is presenting tasting that will discuss the various merits of rosé and sparkling wines as well as offer suggestions as to which cheeses pair best with which wines.

The whole event takes place over four fantastic days at the end of March, from the 22nd to the 26th.  Tickets can be purchased individually or bought as part of several comprehensive packages.
