7th Annual Bay Area Blues Festival

By San Francisco Limousine Specialist on September 5, 2017

Longtime residents of the Bay Area might recall two end-of-summer festivals that have long been favorites for fans of street fairs and live music.  We are referring to The Downtown Martinez Italian Street Painting Festival and the Polk Street Blues Festival (the latter of which was held in San Francisco, along (surprise!) Polk Street).  Operating independently of one another, these two events brought in thousands of visitors to the Bay Area, giving an audience to scores of painters as well as musicians during the weekends of their operation.

While each event was a classic in its own right, seven years ago the popular event company Steven Restivo merged with Main Street Martinez and decided that, rather than have two separate festivals competing for an audience that wanted to attend both, it might make more sense to merge the two festivals together into one large gathering.  For the seventh year in a row, Steven Restivo Event Services and Main Street Martinez are proud to be able to present the Bay Area Blues Festival, one of the premier showcases of blues along the west coast, and one of the best times you will have in the Bay Area this September.

Held in the historic downtown of Martinez, the festival is only a short ride from San Francisco itself but still provides visitors with the sense of calm and relief that can come upon us after leaving a large metropolitan area.  Known for its amazing restaurants and adorable boutique shops, Martinez is already a wonderful escape from the city, but the weekend of the Blues Festival makes it even more appealing.

Spanning the weekend of September 23rd to the 24th, the Bay Area Blues Festival will feature numerous regionally and nationally touring acts performing on two state-of-the-art stages.  Performers for this year’s Bay Area Blues Festival include:

  • Tebo Howlin Wolf Review
  • Rjae Haas
  • Big Blu Soul Revue
  • David M’ore Band
  • South County Blues Band
  • Jr. De Ville Blues Band
  • Carie and the Soul Shakers
  • Chicos Blues Band

Of course there will also be plenty of delicious food and drink provided by local food vendors, art and craft booths, and plenty of other activities to keep you busy throughout the weekend.

Attendance to the Bay Area Blues Festival is absolutely and gloriously free.
