Rockin’ in the Bay Area
Live music abounds this fall in the Bay Area. People can hear everything from classical music to hard rock; it all depends on your taste and desires.
Billy Joel takes the stage Sept. 5 at AT&T Park. The New York-native has sold 150 million albums over his storied career, including the ever-popular “Piano Man.” The concert will be Bill Joel’s only California appearance during his current tour, which featured a host of sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden.
Country music superstar Luke Bryan is coming to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. The concert takes place Aug. 29th. Bryan was voted the Country Music Entertainer of the Year and has co-hosted the American Country Music awards. The concert is part of the Kick Up The Dust Tour and will also feature Florida Georgia Line, Randy Houser, Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch and DJ Rock. Bryan recently released the “Spring Break…Checkin’ Out” album, his seventh.
The Dave Matthews Band plays Shoreline Pavilion in Mountain View on Sept. 11. The band has been popular since the 1990s and was founded in Charlottesville, Virginia. Known for a huge tour schedule, the band has sold 30 million records worldwide. The band has debuted several new songs during the current tour, and the outdoor ambiance of the Shoreline is the perfect place to see the band.
Finally, Rodrigo y Gabriela plays the Masonic on Sept. 16. The band is a Mexico-based acoustic duo known for its aggressive playing style. The group has been influenced by a variety of genres including flamenco, rock and heavy metal. Rodrigo y Gabriela has also been involved with the television and film industry and recorded a song for the one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
