Named after the amendment to the Constitution repealing prohibition, this witty bar aims to reclaim the essence of the neighborhood gathering place the local brewpub once represented before prohibition. At the 21st Amendment, they celebrate the culture of the great breweries of old, making unique, hand crafted beers, great food, and providing a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that invites conversation, interaction and a sense of community. With names like “Hell or High Watermelon,” a popular summertime watermelon wheat, and “Brew Free! or Die IPA,” a perpetual award winner, this fun brewery mixes wit with old-time charm and modern influence – all combining to make one unique brewery destination in the SoMa district.

An organic brewery that doubles as a Spanish restaurant, ThirstyBear pairs the ultimate social beverage with tapas, making a quick trip to this brewery a near impossible task. You’ll want to linger for hours over seasonally prepared Spanish small plates paired with The Polar Bear Pilsner or The Panda Bear Ale, just two popular choices from their long list of house-brewed beers. Cute names and delicious food aside, The ThirstyBear is San Francisco’s only green-certified organic brewery, adding a whole new level to the concept of enjoying responsibly.
