Juneteenth Parade and Festival
On June 19th, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger led the Union army into Galveston Texas. He carried with him the news that the Civil War was over, that the North had won, and that all of the slaves still being held were now completely free. In honor of this landmark event, Dr. Wesley Johnson Sr. held, in 1950, a celebration in San Francisco at the Texas Playhouse, located on Fillmore Street.
26th Annual Potrero Hill Festival
Our Second Fall Festival Highlight comes to us courtesy ofc House, nestled up at 953 De Haro St., in San Francisco itself. This event is the crown jewel of the Potrero Hill neighborhood’s yearly events, and because of this the residents of this beautiful and famous area of the Bay Area don’t hold anything back when it comes to ensuring that their festival will stick in the minds of its attendees.
