Limousine Inspector Taken for a Dangerous Ride in Illegal Limo
A chauffer of an illegal limo in Brooklyn, New York gave a Limousine Commission inspector the ride of his life recently after getting caught in an illegal limo sting operation. Shortly after hailing an illegal fare, limo driver Abdourahamane Barry, 37, learned that his fare was actually an undercover inspector for New York’s Taxi and Limousine Commission. The inspector had just negotiated a $15 fare for a relatively short trip and climbed into the back of the limo when he announced the bust and told his driver he was going to get a ticket. Instead of accepting the fine, the chauffeur tried to speed away from the TLC inspector who had been standing with a group of other inspectors as part of their sting operation.

A 15-year-old California girl who has struggled with life-threatening health problems for the last three years got a limo ride and a quinceañera she and her family will never forget thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Berenice Jasso is a young lady from Escalon, California and the daughter of farm workers who thought they might lose their daughter due to kidney problems that confounded doctors. Shortly before she turned 14, her parents learned that Berenice’s kidneys were failing, and doctors could not identify the reason. Within a year of the diagnosis, both of her kidneys were removed, and Berenice lived for four months with frequent trips to a dialysis clinic to stay alive while they waited for a kidney to become available.

Tom Scovell, father of the bride, placed a bid on a wedding limo package offered as a promotional contest by a local radio station. He placed a $1,000 bid on the radio station’s auction and was surprised and delighted to learn that he had won the auction for just $335. He contacted the limo service a few days later and made the reservations for his daughter’s June 18 wedding.
