Rent a Bay Area Limousine or Party Bus for the NHL Playoffs!
The last several years have been a mixed bag of emotions for area hockey fans. Our Sharks have been very good for a very long time now, but have fallen short of the ultimate prize: Lord Stanley’s Cup. This year’s playoffs are fast approaching. While the playoff schedule is still a few weeks away, now is the time to begin planning for attending games with your crew. Here at NLS Limo, we’re hockey fans, too, and we want to be your first choice of San Francisco limousine companies for the playoffs and beyond!
San Francisco Neighborhood Guide: Pacific Heights
If the name Pacific Heights evokes mental images in your head of an upscale, privileged San Francisco neighborhood with grand old homes, incredible views and old money, your assumptions are absolutely right. The first generation or two of Pacific Heights residents were captains of industry, successful retailers, politicians and other moneyed, well-to-do types at the top of the social order. Suffice it to say that Pacific Heights was the place to live in San Francisco if you had the means. This neighborhood provides some of the city’s best views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay, and it is a must-visit destination for most of our city’s millions of visitors each year. This neighborhood was one of the first to have service from our city’s famous cable cars, and they continue to transport San Franciscans to this day.
San Francisco Neighborhood Guide: Noe Valley
San Francisco’s Noe Valley neighborhood isn’t mentioned in many travel guides and doesn’t present the incredible photo opportunities that other city neighborhoods do. However, if you’re looking for a unique, authentic San Francisco experience, it’s worthy of your consideration. Noe Valley is a favorite location for film and TV crews. The neighborhood’s lovely Victorian homes, steep hills and views of the city have been featured in the movie “Sister Act,” the television show Nash Bridges and many other movies and TV shows.
West Hollywood Considering Restrictions on Oversized Limousines
West Hollywood is exploring ways to ban large, oversized limousines from operating on city streets. City officials say the ban would protect the environment, ease parking, facilitate traffic flow and remove a potential obstacle to emergency vehicles responding to a call. The West Hollywood City Council approved the formation of a search committee that would draft measures to restrict huge custom limousines made with fabricated bodies grafted to the cab of a long-haul tractor or truck tractor. A local limousine service owns and rents such a limo called the Colossus that includes all the normal features of a limousine plus a disco dance floor and an external television that can be used for advertising.
Car and Limo Rentals Becoming Big Business in Beijing
Hiring a car to take people from one place to another in Beijing is becoming a very big business as traffic restrictions make it increasingly difficult for residents to own and drive cars. City officials have adopted these restrictions as part of a concerted effort to reduce the city’s serious traffic problems. The number of privately owned cars on Beijing’s streets has more than doubled in the last five years, creating nightmarish traffic jams and horrible air pollution problems. Taking drastic measures, Beijing officials have issued a month-long moratorium on buying cars, and they plan to issue license plates through a lottery system after the ban has expired.
Nursing Home Grants Resident’s Wish: Ride in a Limousine
A report out of Kentucky provides the kind of news we all could use more of and more often. An elderly resident of Magnolia Village Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green had a wish to ride in a limo, receive a full body treatment at a day spa, go out for lunch, do some shopping and ride back to her home in the assisted living facility. Some employees at SunBridge Healthcare, a 60-bed nursing center that cares for adults with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, granted 85-year-old Gladys Revels’ wish recently and made her day.
Historic Rolls Royce Limousines for Sale
A pair of Rolls-Royce limousines commissioned by Harrods, the world-famous department store, has been scheduled for sale on the auction block. If the reserve prices are met or surpassed, the limos will be sold in Bonhams’ Paris sale of Motor Cars at the Grand Palais on February 5, 2011. Harrods bought one of the Rolls-Royce limousines, a 1963 Rolls-Royce Phantom V once owned by Edward, Duke of Kent, at an auction in 1996. Harrods had the limo completely refurbished inside and out with the store’s trademark color, Harrods Green. This Rolls is expected to sell for between $190,000 to $250,000 US.
Custom Limousine Earns World Record as Heaviest Limo
Guinness has certified a custom limo weighing 22.7 tons and measuring 70 feet long and 13 feet high as the world’s heaviest limousine. The Midnight Rider is classified and licensed as a limousine by the state of California and features five TVs, a full bar and three lounges. Don’t look for us to add this megalimo to our fleet of San Francisco limousines in the near future. A Southern California couple owns it and rents it out for the princely sum of $1,050 per hour. That price may sound steep, and it is, but the Midnight Rider comes with a crew of five, including two chauffeurs, a bartender, a hostess and an operations specialist.

Pub crawls on St. Patrick’s Day are a tradition going back for many Bay Area residents. Transplant Recipient Celebrates 13th Birthday With Pink Limousine Ride
A 13-year-old liver transplant recipient celebrated her birthday in a very special way recently by riding in a pink limousine with close friends and family members. Eden Darcy was born with biliary artesia, a condition in which the liver’s bile ducts are blocked, impairing the function of the liver. The young lady and her family have struggled with the disease since her diagnosis five weeks after she was born. She received a new liver in August 2005, but complications made the following weeks, months and years very difficult. Her body rejected the transplanted liver three times, requiring constant monitoring and a regimen of anti-rejection medication. In addition, she has experienced many side effects from the medication.
