History of Concord, California

Concord, California started out, like many of the other towns and cities around the San Francisco Bay Area, by being inhabited by a Native American tribe. The Miwok Tribe that inhabited the area was there until the 18th century, when the Spanish settlers came to the area. It was not settled until 1834, when the land was named Todos Santos. Eventually the town became more populated after the nearby Pacheco was devastated by fire and flood in the late 19th century.

The lands surrounding Concord were agricultural producers until the technological advent of the 1950's and Silicon Valley drew people to the Concord, CA area for residential purposes. Today, Concord is a residential community with a population of approximately 120,000 people. This water park is made up of 25 different rides that are spread out over seven different complexes. Sleep Train Pavilion

This pavilion was first opened in 1975 under the name of the Chronicle Pavilion and eventually Concord Pavilion until the name change of Sleep Train Pavilion in 2000. Markham Regional Arboretum

This arboretum is a collection of trees that is still in progress, with most of the area still the natural land that was set aside for the Markham Regional Arboretum. It was founded in 1981 after the land was sold to the city of Concord in 1966 with the condition that it be kept in the natural state. It’s a beautiful area to explore and enjoy for a few hours or an entire day.
